My sons have thrived at Chelsea Prep. We originally chose this District 2 G&T school because of the teachers. We were blown away at orientation four years ago. Dana Kaplan stole the show! Now it has been four years, and two of my sons are soaring under the guidance of equally committed and nurturing teachers. The principal has changed, and some parents don't like this. Despite a rough transition, Cindy is now showing her leadership skills and is really bringing the entire school community together. We, personally, love the integration as it allows some of the stronger students to help the students in need. Cindy is as phenomenal, if not more so, at hiring the best teachers in the city. Top-notch teachers, coupled with strong student teachers AND teaching assistants (funded by the PTA) makes this school the best choice for our family.

The G&T program at PS33 is fantastic! Since we started at PS33 my DC has grown tremendously and despite the issues there have been with the leadership, PS33 continues to shine and provide a great, solid education to its students. PS33 teachers are the absolute best. Classes are not that big and there are TAs in the classrooms which allows the teacher to give more targeted instruction to students. PTA is strong and committed. It is a wonderful community!
PS33 is a wonderful school with very strong academics. The parent community is very involved and the PTA raises a lot of money that support great programs for the school! Teachers are outstanding- no question about that! There has been a learning curve with the new principal, since she did bring in a few changes.. she has certainly managed to integrate the Gen Ed and G&T much more (which some parents don't like), and her main goal is to build a strong community.
