This school really sucks. I am a current 8th grader. But I know a lot so far. The building has really dim and depressing lighting. There is no bell to dismiss us and all the clocks in the building are wrong. We barely have any working or have few computers. There is no libary or printer. totally broke. The classrooms have broken pipes , walls and rodents. The new vice principal Ms. grant (AKA BIG BIRD) only came 2 years ago . She took away all the fun aticvites we do. ( Thanksgiving feast, Career day, Six flag trip, Field day etc.) The teachers are rude and stuck up and barely teach you anything. The guidance counsler does not even do her job. She hangs around with the bad and popular kids and ignores everyone else. I had to figure out the highschool with the help of Family Welcome Centers.

I'm a current 8th grader at the school and I can say that this school is extremely helpful in terms of informing u about the different options you have for high schools including the specialized high schools. the teachers are actually really great. the teach you in a way that makes you passionate about the subject and makes u want to learn more. its a really small school so the students are really close. we have 4 regents classes for 8th graders and all i have to say is that those teachers are absolutely spectacular and they really care about if u understand the topic. there's a lot of homework as well which makes u have more practice with the material at hand. the only problem with this school is the behavioral problem. we tend to talk a lot during class and as a result, it takes time from our learning because the teachers have to do long lectures about our behavior.
This was a excellent school. The elementary school prepared me well for middle school. The teachers challenged me and taught me comfortable ways to learn. the environment was safe. They will do anything to help you succeed. However, i dont know much about the special needs curriculum. But overall public schools dont do much of a great job helping students with learning disabilities.
