Remote learning is very well organized, the school is able to build a strong school Community remotely, Caring-dedicated teachers and staff! My only negative is the Columbia University's reading and writing program (Lucy Calkins & TCRWP Colleages Units of Study Reading, Writing Phonics) The content in the videos are a bit tough for elementary level students to fully grasp. It's definitely a higher level of thinking which is fine but its unnecessarily wordy and the strategies can be more simplified without sacrificing rigor. You have to see the videos to better understand what I am trying to describe here. The Reading and writing program is great for children entering in Kindergarten because they will grow into the curriculum. The lessons year after year connect-builds on skill. But for those coming in at a later grade its definitely a challenge. I have to have my son watch the videos peice by peice to make sure he understood what was being taught.
