Provo High School was a great social and learning environment I always felt safe and protected and for the most part the teachers were passionate about teaching one of my favorite things being my principal Mr. Sites he was outstanding! He knew what seemed like everyone’s names him and his wife went to every single game for every single sport you could always count on him to show up and support all the activities with phs students. When it came to rules and trackers (people monitoring the halls) I do feel like it was getting more and more strict this past year a big part of that being from the lack of respect coming from the incoming students but i just hope the newer rules and enforcements don’t effect the people who don’t deserve it. Over all im always proud to be a Provo High Bulldog and I truly feel they are setting me up for the rest of my life.
Provo High is a very interesting school, it is unlike most you will come across. Academically it provides good opportunities for collecting college credits and even getting a head start in certain fields through programs such as MTech. The experiences you have with teachers at PHS will most of the time be a good learning opportunity. There are some very caring and proficient teachers here, but there are also teachers who will be the direct opposite. One thing that bothers me most about PHS is how stingy they are. School events are overpriced, students receive no discounts, and their budgeting is unfair to many of the performing arts programs. Areas like Drama and Choir (which perform better than any other extracurricular at our school) receive very little funding compared to the sports teams, who continuously underperform. Overall, PHS is a good experience for almost anyone.
Provo High has in my opinion some of the best teachers in all of Utah Valley. These teachers truly love their job and want the best for their students. They're also very lenient with students since COVID with attendance and schoolwork and making sure it can work for every student. One critique I would have isn't necessarily the school's fault but maybe a statewide issue. A lot of the content that they teach is filtered to fit the standards of the community. However, I think it's important to teach people all sides of things even if it's not something that fits the common narrative. Overall a pretty great experience at Provo High with a lot of student activities and involvement.
