I like the high school, but it needs more work. The school is great, but it needs more people that work there to care about their jobs, other than just a quick paycheck. The school has Mutiple fights on a daily and the lines to get in the school is very long and most lose class time. The food there isnt good last year when I was a junior the beef had green glowing things on the meat someone also found maggots in the chicken
Continued support from the Proviso Teachers throughout the my entire educational career!!! I am very proud of all my Class of 2020 classmates being Strong in spite of adverse conditions brought on by the National COVID-19 pandemic while socially distancing after an unexpectedly being forced out of the building before the end of our senior year. Proviso teachers continued to teach remotely to prepare Scholars like myself for where we needed to be to pursue our post secondary goals & dreams. I am forever grateful and owe it all to them to finish strong overcoming adversity simultaneously practicing resistance they instilled in me. This scholarship will help lessen the financial struggle, bringing me closer to my post secondary goals as promised. I will not let them down.
My overall experience at Proviso West is average; I'm adapting to handling certain situations and what goes on throughout the school. Proviso doesn't have a lot of after school clubs, especially during COVID-19, of course. The staff is inexperienced on how to handle certain situations, like bathroom limits and when to allow the limit to be broken at certain times; Before COVID, Proviso West enforced time limits on the bathrooms. A student entered 2 mins before the time limit was up and was sick to their stomach. However, they ignored the child's state and urged her to get out of the bathroom, and they could've allowed the child to exit when she at least felt less uneasy. Proviso West is what you make out of it and how you handle certain situations; To sum it up, throughout my years of attending PWHS, overall, it was average.
