Proviso Math & Science has been a bitter sweet experience. It was not my first choice, but as my mom says. Everything happens for a reason. The title Math & Science should give you an idea of the culture of the school. We are nerds, We like to think we among the beautiful, popular, and revered...and in our own little world we are...all that! But what I found refreshing, was while I tried over the years to find myself and where I belong socially, the whole school was going through the same struggles. Therefore, I wasn't such the outcast as I felt.

Yes, PMSA was a wonderful experience, it want be missed though. I only see new and exciting adventures on the horizon and I with technology, I plan on taking everyone along for the ride.

PMSA is a very well rounded school with great teachers and classes. Although the opportunity for sports is limited, we have a fun robotics team and the opportunity to start our own clubs as long as we get a teacher sponsor. This school administration will challenge students to the point where it may seem like they care more about school ratings and numbers than the students themselves but caring teachers make up for the pressure from higher-ups. PMSA sets up students for success as they push students to be better critical thinkers and prepares them for college. They could be a bit more organized with board meetings and information about things such as International Baccalaureate classes as they often throw students into those classes without warning. PMSA does strive for greatness and tries their best to keep students exciting for learning with pep rallies and student-led assemblies.
The Math and Science Academy in my opinion is an outstanding school for those who look to strengthen or expand their experience or skills in the math and science fields. This school offer many science and math courses, along with AP and IB classes. As a junior now, I have found that this school really prepares students, especially those looking to pursue careers in medical, science, math, or engineering fields. This school also focuses on improving SAT scores throughout your entire high school education. This school has a friendly environment, also including that the students are very diverse.
