Providence Classical Christian School Reviews

3 reviews
Good emphasis on the faith and has some quality families attending. However, the school is not diverse in thinking and can harbor some strange attitudes towards discipline. Some teachers are amazing, and some are awful. The liberal arts are done well, but the STEM opportunities are few and there is a political stigma. Many families and teachers support an apologist who holds an extreme-right view along with some racist and sexist views. Many of those who run the school let their bias leak through and it can feel very unwelcoming to have a slightly different opinion. The families are mostly upper-middle-class, intact, and privileged so if someone does not fit into that mold it can be difficult. The administration has no liability and no one to disagree with their opinions, even their harmful ones. Scandals are swept under the carpet in an unhealthy way when trust could be built.

Providence Classical Christian School is a small school that others may, at first glance, overlook, however, when people get to know the individual students, they can truly see the difference in how these students carry themselves in a polished manner and in how they view the world around them in an open-minded, compassionate way. Students at Providence are taught not what to think, but how to think. They are not given certain phrases that will help them interviews, but instead, are taught how to interact with every single adult around them. Providence does not teach to the test but strives to educate the whole individual, equipping all students with tools that they can use throughout their lives. I am proud to call myself a Providence Classical Christian School alumni. Graduating from this school is an accomplishment that I will always treasure.
Excellent school for learning to write, think, and argue well. Great community, small enough to be able to contribute in sports and drama in a meaningful way. Great place to develop a strong Christian worldview.
