Providence Catholic is a place where students of all abilities can improve and develop their social, emotional, academic, spiritual, athletic, artistic, and countless other abilities. It is a school that has caring faculty and a great atmosphere for learning that will undoubtedly prepare all students for college/university. There are countless ways to get involved at Providence, whether it be in sports or clubs or other extracurricular activities, there is something for everyone. A common way to describe the connections students make with one another is compared to that of a family, there is an undeniable “family atmosphere” throughout the halls and classrooms.
Providence catholic is college that does well in culture and religious education but is sub par when it comes to academics. Qualities vary for math teachers, with some that are fantastic and some that were just hired to be a coach. While it does give you sense how college work is to approach, it always felt like a high school assignment with a larger than average amount of points. For example, the English department never fully broke us away from the high school standard 5 paragraph essay.I would not have mine this until my English 101 teacher started telling us to break away from it. Another trend they wanted to stop was use of attention getters, which was still taught in my senior and junior English classes. music were generally for only band and choir kids, however it had some variety in the art department with having a graphic design, painting, and drawing class. All the school it has going for it is some good staff members and school culture.
