Prospect Hill Academy Charter School Reviews
Rating 3.8 out of 5 71 reviews
This school offered a lot of support during the pandemic. Students were able to speak about their feelings and their opinions were valued. This school made being on zoom very interesting and educational. This school has raised me well and disciplined me with understanding on why having great behavior is beneficial to you and others. It is very diverse and has a lot of students coming from Haitian decent. There are lots of African-American teachers, the students feel comfortable seeing the amount of representation. This school is competitive in sports and encourage kids to participate in gym. Students do lots of hands on projects and work outside, and gardening. Students develop creativity from being at Prospect-Hill Academy. I only wish the teachers were more strict about dress code.
Like many other schools, your experience is what you make of it. One of Prospect Hills' major components of focus is their focus on college readiness. As a current college student its truly shocking to see how many students weren't as prepared as I was. I've met too many college students who didn't know what FAFSA even was. Furthermore, PHA's location makes it an awesome hub for any prospective students to get involved in their community or explore leadership opportunities. One very popular opportunity is TPP, which is located off of Central Square and help students create their own business. For the most part, the teachers will help students achieve greatness and do well however there are a few that fall far below these criteria. For a small school, PHA does offer a wide variety of sports - but some favorites (i.e football) are not available. The diversity offered at PHA will expose you to many different cultures and world views which is awesome preparation for adulthood.
I have been a part of the PHA community for my entire life! I appreciate all of the help and support the teachers and the college counseling department has given me as I transition into college. As a small school, PHA is able to accommodate all student needs and have programs in place for students that need extra help.
