Prospect High School Reviews
Rating 4.07 out of 5 543 reviews
Prospect high school has really turned a new leaf in terms of the teachers being hired. When I was a freshman, most of my teachers were older and unkind. As I have grown up, Prospect has hired such wonderful young teachers that I love! I really commend their efforts to make this school more inclusive and understanding.
For the 4 years, I attended Prospect, I had a lot of encouraging and enjoyable moments. The teachers were very helpful, if I had questions they would respond within a day to two, as well as give valuable feedback on assignments if they saw there was something wrong with a rough draft. They are also great teachers who wanted us to succeed and pass the class as well as become better not just as students but as people as well. The communications program at Prospect when I attended was still starting out, but since then has improved so much and Mr. Jason Block is one of the top journalism and news broadcast teachers in the state maybe even the country, hands down. One thing I would like to see changed is the booth at the football stadium, I would like to see there be a designated room just for the broadcast team so it doesn't take so long to set up all the wires and equipment to stream games. Also, so that the PA announcer and other people aren't stepping on wires or making lots of noise.
Prospect is a school that prides itself on its rigorous academics, high performing athletics, and outstanding school spirit. And it truly delivers. Offering almost all AP courses and numerous dual credit courses with colleges in all areas of studies including math, social sciences, world languages, and beyond. Prospect encourages and often places students in AP courses. At my time at Prospect, I took 8 AP courses, 3 dual credit, and 10 honors courses. Prospect is consistently ranked top 20 in Illinois high school rankings. Athletics and extracurriculars often rank among top in state and nation. Such as girls track who rank as one of the top teams in the nation, varsity football who made state this year, the marching band which travels the country at top competitions, and beyond. Regardless of the numerous opportunities in academics and athletics, Prospect students and staff are united by the rich school spirit which can be seen at football games to community service participation.
