I like how Princeton High School values the importance of academics over sports. The teachers in the high schools make sure your grades are average before you can play a sport. I feel like PHS could improve the student culture. As of right now, PHS does little to make students feel comfortable being themselves. Also, the high school does not allow much creativity for students. I think a mural made by the students, or more opportunities to express our creativity or feel comfortable opening up to the faculty around us would be a huge improvement. I hear a lot of students say high school feels like prison, so if PHS could change that mentality, that would be a huge improvement.
Administration, the board, teachers, and coaches stick together and don’t put the students first. If you originated from Princeton, you have a better chance at succeeding and participating in sports and events. Most teachers are graduates from Princeton and have the same mentality and some how feel they can say and do as they please, with no consequences. Your talent, sadly does not guarantee you a sport position, or active part or role in an activity, but your name does.
