Presidio Hill School Reviews

3 reviews
Presidio Hill School has been a wonderful environment for my daughter. She has attended 2 other bay area progressive private schools so we've experienced other educational environments, and I can say she has definitely thrived at PHS the most.

The teachers are inspirational and kind, the parent community is close nit, and the administrative staff are warm and welcoming.

I have also heard that the kids come out of PHS very well prepared for high school as they are taught to think for themselves, problem solve and advocate for others.

This is not a pressure cooker school, it's a place where kids are passionate about learning and become well versed in articulating their thoughts. As a result, students here we'll adjusted and get into all the best high schools.

It was not worth the almost 40K a year my parents put into this school. I had an awful time. Friends were few, and the toxic social environment was evident but that's the nature of the middle school so I can't blame PHS. I learned very very little, and was not at all prepared for high school, nor was I supported in the ways I needed to. It felt like extremely expensive daycare for preteens. The math courses were atrocious, and the educational entire system was very disorganized. I wish my parents had saved the $80,000 they spent on this school and had sent me to the public instead. However, I do feel the need to say that the teachers/faculty and field trips were amazing. Overall, I wish I could have saved the money for college and gone public instead.
The academics are great except for math. In math, they have a very bad system of teaching where the teacher will put you in groups and give you a math problem, tell you to figure it out yourself, and then we will have a test on it the next day. The math teacher also puts us into groups based on how good we are at math, so it's especially hard if you can't do math and you are put in a group of other people who also are not very good at math, so you get no learning done because none of us have any idea what to do so we keep failing math.
