I like how small and intimate Presentation Academy is. It is an extremely easy transition for a student coming from a smaller middle school. The student:teacher ratio is helpful, and allows for students to ask for help whenever they need it. However, since Presentation Academy is so tiny in comparison to other high schools, there tends to be drama and not as many AP/Dual Credit courses available.
This is a pretty good school. The environment is pretty laid back for the upperclassmen. The freshmen have seemingly become worse every year, and don’t get much better as they turn into sophomores and so on. The girls are privileged to be attending this school, though this isn’t really your standard private school demographic. There’s a good amount of financial aid given out and so that attracts many girls from different backgrounds. The school environment depends mainly on the type of girls who come in. The administration doesn’t really turn kids lives around, but if the girls have the right attitude they can do very well at Pres.
It’s crazy to imagine if I would have went anywhere else. It’s big enough that you can make a lot of friends that you click with but small enough to where there aren’t cliques. The lack of drama we had all 4 years wouldn’t even seem realistic in a high school environment. You also get to know and become friends with girls you probably never would talked to in a bigger high school. All of us in my class were so different and had so many different views but it was just completely normal and accepted there. The teachers are great and put their heart into their job and the girls. Great teachers and great role models. If I could do it all over again, I would in a heartbeat because it was a great part of my life.
