I met so many incredible people through my four years at Poway High School and truly wouldn't be the person I am today without them. Being a student in the advanced choir was definitely a highlight of my high school career. We had the ability to sing at Carnegie Hall in New York City and have had the most prestigious singers participate in Regional and All State choirs! Not only is the arts at PHS so profound and professional, but the atmosphere surrounding the students is unlike any other. The choir director, Ms. Schemmel, is one of the most kind-hearted teachers I have ever had the ability to work with. She always challenged the students to step out of their comfort zone and create music that was challenging yet rewarding. I am proud to be an alumni of Poway High School and will cherish the many experiences from this school forever.

Being apart of Poway High for the past 3 years has been more than amazing. On our campus, we are a family who grow together, support everyone, and change for the better. The students and faculty have created such a positive environment that changes you for the better. Everyone is accepting and supports one another on a daily basis. We have grown up together for the past 3 years of high school, and we bring out the best in one another. The student life has changed my life forever! The support at sports games, pep rally's, spirit Fridays, and in the classroom have truly changed me as a person and I would not have wanted to spend my high school years anywhere else. Poway High will forever be my home, who shaped me into the best person I could ever be. My high school experience has been nothing but a blessing so far, and I am beyond thankful for my education at Poway High School.
Poway high is a school that offers many opportunities when it comes to college readiness and clubs. However, what undermines these opportunities for many students are the way their advertised. More often than not, these opportunities aren't offered unless you know someone who's been in an club or activity. Another point that I would like to address is the amount of racial discrimination that occurs on a daily basis. This type of discrimination occurs mostly towards black and Hispanic students, and it deeply saddens me that I see this happen almost every day. But I really hope that this review changes the mindset of some students who still continue these actions and persecute other students for the color of their skin or for heritage.
