I spent about 13 years at PDS and found my time to be extremely wonderful. I want to respond to a few of the other comments. "Favoritism" in the classroom is a defunct label. There are a very very small amount of students at PDS who do not respect their teachers nor care about what they have to say. These are the students who have claimed the "fake" academic environment at PDS. If a student here at the very minimum respects their teacher, then they will become one of the "favorites". These comments are also clearly exaggerated due to a very individualistic experience that may have been bad. That being said, PDS is for students and families that WANT to be inspired by their teachers, that want to be inspired by learning. If you're open-minded here, then you will not only excel in the classroom but also life after PDS. Although it's easy to get through without trying hard, when you do try hard, you will get the education and experience like NO OTHER.

PDS helped shape me into who I am. The close knit relationships with teachers allowed me the comfort and capability to grow as both a student and an independant thinker. When I had questions I knew there was a resource there for me to pull on. The courses were fun and interesting and as I moved through high school I began getting more freedom in what kind of classes I could take, even engineering my own to an extent. PDS isn't a perfect school but it was wonderful for me.
PDS is a great school if you like small, close-knit community. you get to interact a lot with your teachers and really get to know your classmates. PDS has great humanities/literature program and the science program are great if you are interested in biology or physics. However, due to the small size of the school there are not enough resources to have a wide variety of subjects, such as economics. Although the school don't offer APs teachers help student prep for exams in Calc. In general people at pds are very liberal and open to things.
