With every school experience, there are highs and lows. Overall the teachers were extremely nice and super helpful. I learned valuable lessons and most of my classes, with an exceptions of a few classes. I think it would be helpful if the school did a better job of screening teachers' teaching abilities/styles before hiring them. Also, I found the way the school approached college prep was very unhelpful. I found myself having to try and navigate through the ins and outs of college applications and financial stresses mostly on my own. I would have loved more help when it came to things like the SATs, applications, scholarships, and internship opportunities especially since I had very little parent involvement at home. I also wish the school had a larger variety of extra-curriculars. I realize that private schools are working on a tight budget, but even small improvements in these areas would be amazing. Despite these critiques, I really enjoyed my time there and wouldn't take it back

Portland Christian is a school where my child feels safe, and free to share opinions. My child is challenged academically and is known by staff by name rather than just a number. My child has access to sports, drama and a religious education that is modeled by teachers, administrators and office staff. There are plenty opportunities to be involved in volunteering activities and take an interest in your child’s life and education!
Portland Christian is a great school, who prides on our mission statement, academic achievements, and student's overall success. My freshman year was challenging because I transferred from a public school to a private school. Fortunately, with my determination and their support, my GPA improved to 3.3 within 4 months.
