Porter Ranch Community Reviews
Porter Ranch Community School is an environment perfect for combining a student's desire to learn and to also explore their interests and passions. Not only is it a school where a student can find what it is that they are meant to do but can also learn about different types of people and culture especially through the Korean immersion program. Regardless if you are from the community or not as soon as you step on campus you feel at home.
Private school feel and located in a safe community, this school sets the bar high in educational standards and student performance. My daughter is proud to be a student of this school and remains very involved in all activities. She is excelling academically, socially well-rounded, and disciplined - kudos to the dedicated teachers, principal, and vice principal, and the rest of the PRCS family.
PRCS is a wonderful school. One of the main reasons we moved to this beautiful neighborhood was for this school. Like the community, it is highly regarded with great scores, but it is clean, relatively new, and safe school with kind, skilled, and passionate teachers and leaders (including the principal and vice principal). It's not just about learning and test scores, teachers truly care about the kids and their growth and well being. It is a family. I notice a high level of parent involvement. We have two kids in the elementary school still and another in 8th grade and I love the continuity of K-8 but they have different buildings, class rotations, and lockers so it is different yet they can visit with previous teachers and feel confidence, pride, and appreciative of still being there as the big kids on campus. I couldn't recommend PRCS more. I just wish they had a high school comparable to this school in this community.
Porter Ranch Community School is a public school under LAUSD, but it is small in student population, so it feels more like a private school. The academics and the teachers at PRCS are good, and they set the bar high on student expectations. Rules and disciplinary actions are enforced, and the school is a newer school, so the building is clean and the supplies are newer.
