While I've been at Port Washington High School, I have seen many things that make our school pleasant as well as many things that need to be improved upon. Our academics, extracurriculars, and parent involvement are very good, and our food is excellent. The lunches are more than enough to give students a full meal, and the ingredients used are of genuine quality. The school also has a great music and arts program, with many sponsors and tons of opportunities for choir and band students. With all these great things, however, come some issues that need to be focused on. The diversity of Port High is poor, due to its location being in a small, close-minded town. And while there is representation for those who are of different ethnicities and those who are members of the LGBTQ+ Community, the special needs students remain underrepresented and misunderstood. Overall, while Port High has many strengths, its diversity must be improved upon, and the student body should be much more inclusive.
Port Washington High School is a great school! The teachers are amazing and genuine. All of the staff is super supportive and care very deeply for their student's success. Port's sports are not the best, but they do have great Port Pride. Port is ranked very high in Wisconsin Public Schools listings. The facilities are gorgeous. Most of the campus is newly built. The referendum was finished during my junior year. One thing I wish to see is more diversity in the student body and staff.
One thing I enjoyed about Port Washington High School was the brand new school buildings that were available to me. Port Washington High School recently remodeled a large portion of the school, including the Performing Arts Center, gymnasium, fitness center. They also built a whole new wing to the building which houses courses in science, math, business, and world language.
