Overall, the environment of PNG High School is encouraging and productive. There are activities offered to every type of student. The academic and athletic achievements of the students demonstrates the time and effort that is put into student success. The only negative of the school is the 'everyone gets a trophy' mentality. Leadership and honor roles can be given to almost anybody in order to not hurt feelings. However, for the students that have put in work to receive those honors get through into the mass. They need to hold students to higher standards rather than lowering the bar for them to reach.
I enjoy attending this school, as there are tons of different organizations to be a part of. Honor, pride, and tradition is a saying that has been often used throughout my high school years and PNG perfectly captures just that. I am honored to be a part of my school's legacy and everything it means to my community. I have pride in my school. Most teachers take pride in their students' education and work hard to help them succeed. Tradition is the continuation of many activities from throughout the years and the knowing that they'll never end. PNG also has its lower points, but overall is a good school.
Port Neches-Groves High School will always have a special place in my heart. I remember how welcoming and helpful everyone was on my first day of freshman year. The teachers are extremely informative and have always made sure everyone is on task and are understanding the material being taught in the classrooms. The staff are always kind and greeted everyone who they come across in the halls. The community has a long reputation of participating and helping the high school in different events which resulted in them running smoothly and enjoyable for the students. In return to our beloved community, the high school students created community service programs as a thank you for all they have done for our school. The school's community, staff, and students has had a major influence in my life that has made the person I am today. I will always cherish the memories and love this school has given me.
