Port Jefferson Middle School Reviews
Rating 3.33 out of 5 3 reviews
Port Jefferson middle School was a good environment and the teachers prepared us well for high school. They were also always open to helping us out and held regular extra help sessions. I don’t think anything should have been done differently because I felt completely prepared for what I was expected to achieve in high school. The classes weren’t too easy but also not too difficult and I felt encouraged to be involved in the classroom. I also felt well prepared for the exams that were taken at the end of each year and the teachers were very helpful in getting us ready. There were many review sessions before each exam where they went over the basics for the entire course which I found extremely beneficial. Overall, my experience in the middle school helped me move one step closer in the right direction for my future.
Small school which is great because of the small class sizes. Technologically up to date. Wonderful teachers.
The Social Studies teachers didn't teach well at all. One of them told us never pick an answer that you haven't learned about. Then they preceded to make a correct answer a term we never learned. Then basically blew it off like it was nothing. Another teacher told us all the answers are in the notes. After looking back half the answers were no where to be found. One of my science teachers didn't teach a big part of the notes and then assigned us a test without teaching the final part of the notes. Another science teacher finished the units 2 days before school went out before the regents exam. My tutor was very shocked to hear I never learned many big parts of 90% of the tests. They also didn't teach multiple units for the regents exam. The school did not prepare well for the future ahead.
