It's great for academics even if it's hard. The teachers are great because they are very invested in your education and genuinely care about you; they're willing to accommodate your needs and talk to you at any hour if you need something. The food is okay. They mainly serve pizza and chicken patties. My only complaint is that the students are very stuck up and cliquey so that its difficult to make friends. The sports are pretty good but they always get underfunded since hockey takes the main priority, which makes sense because it's the only D1 team. Still kinda sucks. The administration is bad. They don't communicate with other parts of the school and are very strict so their lack of management rubs off on your daily activities. Speaking of daily activities, it's pretty fun at Pope because they always have something going on and try to give you an easy day/day-off every couple of weeks with either a retreat or remote day due to a teacher's meeting. I recommend.
Pope Francis Preparatory School provided me with a unique perspective on the world around us, and enriched me academically. However, there are some flaws with the administration at the school and the overall mindset of the school itself. As a Catholic school, there is expected to be discussions of the Catholic Church and Church doctrine. Pope Francis takes this to the next level, and essentially invalidates anyone who does not think along the lines of the Catholic Church and discusses topics that are acceptable in a very negative light. This obviously puts a damper on what would otherwise be a great educational experience. The faculty at Pope Francis is overall very good; they are dedicated, hardworking, and care about their students. Overall, Pope Francis gets a 3/5 from me.
The school has many good teachers that do truly care about the students' educational wellbeing. These teachers give helpful feedback and are always willing to put in extra time to help the students. On the other hand, there are also some teachers who do not give meaningful lessons, assignments, or feedback so the student cannot advance. The facilities and resources are exceptional and the student can truly strive in fields like science and art with the facilities provided. One thing that definitely needs improvement is the food. There was rarely any meals that students were excited to eat. A lot of the meals were those that students disliked.
