There’s nothing like Polson Pirate football games or basketball games and the school spirit we hold. I looked forward to Friday night lights watching the Pirates continued to be undefeated both my junior and senior year. And watching the entire community come together for basketball especially when we played our rivals Ronan. Besides the sporting events I enjoyed most of my classes taught by carings teachers who just wanted us to succeed. My freshman and sophomore English teacher Mrs. Dickson was one of my favorite teachers who always talked to me in the halls even when she didn’t have me the other of high school. I took three AP classes at PHS and after graduating there are beginning to offer more AP classes which is beneficial to students. Some things that I didn’t like especially during senior year was the administration getting rid of traditions like senior quotes and not letting the football players give away their jerseys on homecoming. But overall I made a lot of good memories!
My experience at Polson High School has been an odd one. I was not able to have much of a freshman year, but in the three years following that, the teachers have been welcoming and helpful. I have taken some Advanced Placement classes myself and found them top-tier. Out of all of the students who took the AP Literature test last year, all of them passed. Most of the students who took the AP United States History class passed the test. The facilities and food quality varies day by day; the general air of the students can vary as well.
Polson High School has been an overall great school to attend, most of the teachers are very caring and the students are very welcoming. I came to Polson High School my sophomore year and immediately felt at home, I played volleyball that fall and the support the community of Polson has for its high school sports is amazing, the stands were always full no matter the sport which was not how it was at my previous school. I was so nervous about attending Polson but I am so grateful that I did because not only did I find lifelong friends and newfound family; I found a community in which I had never found before.
