Pocono Mountain East High School Reviews

I have had a wonderful experience at Pocono Mountain East High School. The teachers are fantastic, caring individuals truly concerned about education. They are also fun-loving and creative! My Honors and A.P. classes have been top-notch, and my overall experience has been one of support, respect, and excellence. I had the opportunity to participate in Varsity sports such as basketball and golf, and these were very satisfying.
My experience at Pocono Mountain East High School had its moments, especially considering I was only a freshman when covid happened. It was a struggle having half of my freshman and sophomore years taken away from me. Having more than 1/4 of my high school experience taken away was a bit hard, and even harder due to having to go on strictly scheduled zooms, and not being able to see my friends. While returning to my junior year, I feel as though my high school could have handled the year that we were returning to in-person school a bit better. There were kids constantly getting in trouble for vaping everywhere(which was annoying in the mornings), and even clogging every single bathroom in the school so no one could use the bathroom at any point. People even stole toilet seats. As a senior, I wish my high school had done more events, and interesting things. Besides a few things, my experience at PMEHS has been pretty mediocre, although meeting some of my best friends makes up for it.
I started my experience as a virtual student and I had at that point no problems, but as time came to go back into the building I started to realize that the school had many problems. Depending on what class your in the textbooks could be up to 20 years old and administration police the uniform more than they do vape policies. For breaking dress code the consequence is taking an online impulsive decision making course that gives the impression of it being made for someone who chainsmokes 5 hours a day. If you enter the building 1 minute after the bell ring it's automatically late, if you do it thrice in a marking period, you have to take a truancy course that gives the impression that you skip school because your parents never loved you, and if you do it 5 times you get an all day in-school suspension where you don't have access to lessons and have to do the work blind. Honestly the only reason why I haven't left yet I is because of the familiarity and access to MCTI.
