I am a senior at PVHS. The last four years have gone by in a blink of an eye. As I’m finishing up my last year at PV I believe that I’ve seen everything and how everything works at Pleasant Valley. Pv is truly a great school. We have some of the best staff, equipment/technology, academics, and sports in the Northern California region. Even though I wouldn’t give my school a 100%, I believe we are really close. Every year the amazingly staff, students, and community make the school better, trust me I know from experience. I hope in the coming years all of the public schools improve their academics, sports, and overall experience relating to education. Every year our graduation rates are improving! With a few changes here and there we as a community can make our schools a safer and better place for students all around.

PV is a great school with many good teachers and great athletic program. The campus is not the most attractive although it is maintained fairly well. PV consistently ranks very well in California schools, most likely in thanks to its above-average teaching staff. There are a large number of AP classes available to take which allows students to take college-level courses early and get credits. The school puts a lot of money into its athletic program and has won a few championships in the last few years, and has a lot of great electives in different fields like art, engineering, architecture, culinary, photography and more. A lot of fun school events including dances, barbeques, rallies, and other social activities. There are clubs on campus but not very many, food is pretty bad on campus but there are a lot of restaurants nearby.
Pleasant Valley High School has been, for many years, at the top of the city of Chico's school district's food chain for both academic and athletic achievement. However, what often goes ignored are the visual and performing arts programs also available at the school. For example, the theater program is forced to put together several performances throughout the school year with pocket change. All money is directed towards the admittingly talented, but over-hyped football team. If funds could be more evenly distributed amongst all programs at Pleasant Valley, students, such as those who struggle in athletics or academics, could feel included.
