Pleasant Valley High School has been, for many years, at the top of the city of Chico's school district's food chain for both academic and athletic achievement. However, what often goes ignored are the visual and performing arts programs also available at the school. For example, the theater program is forced to put together several performances throughout the school year with pocket change. All money is directed towards the admittingly talented, but over-hyped football team. If funds could be more evenly distributed amongst all programs at Pleasant Valley, students, such as those who struggle in athletics or academics, could feel included.

I had a very difficult time socially as teachers would encourage popularity contests within the classroom and very few teachers were truly willing to help chalking up any failures to only fall on the student. This was very distracting to my classes and studies. Furthermore, they prepped me for community college but I always planned to go to a four year. Once I was in a four year university, my grades significantly dropped due to being unprepared in high school.
Awesome high school. One of the best times I had in my life and if I could I would recommend everyone to bring their child to PV. School is ranked high in academics and definitely in sports. Reigning boys and girls soccer, basketball champions and State Champions in football. Great school that cares about every single student and an awesome school culture that makes everyone feel like a true VIKING FAMILY! RIP Silva.
