I transferred to Pleasant Hill High School my 8th grade year, and it was a great experience to say the least. Everyone was so welcoming, and the overall student body was accepting of people from all walks of life. The teachers strive to help you understand the material and not just do the work. Most of them are extremely kind-hearted individuals who care about your well-being. My favorite teacher was Timothy Meinzen; he teaches history and the publications class (yearbook and newspaper). He does his best to make every class interesting; for example, he would often dress up as famous historical figures for his A.P. U.S. History class which was always wildly entertaining.

Pleasant Hill is an excellent town to be in. The people are generally very kind and welcoming. It is easy to be a new student here and fostered into the group. Take it from someone who was one. For such a small school, PHill does a wonderful job at providing APs and intelligent, caring teachers. However, they did drop physics this year, a class I needed to take, so they lost a star for that. Nonetheless, the campus is nice and all of the staff members work hard consistently to provide the best atmosphere possible for our students.
While Pleasant Hill's academic (and to a degree, athletic) programs tend to be fairly limited, its shortcomings are more than made up for by its strengths. It has a wonderful staff and administration who genuinely care about students, in addition to a fairly close community and coaches who also find ways to get involved. These positive factors also help build the school's academic and extracurricular opportunities. In the past year, introduction of an agriculture program, robotics program, expansion of health sciences, and planned growth of the math and science programs have also occurred. I'm glad I went to Pleasant Hill, and it's only getting better.
