This is my second year at Pleasant Grove and I am really glad I came. Originally, I was going to go to Sheldon High School but when I heard about how Pleasant Grove has better academic experiences, I knew I wanted to go there instead. Pleasant Grove High School prepares you for college since the class experience is just like a college class. PGHS also provided many different types of AP classes such as AP Psychology. AP Music Theory, and so much more. I like that Pleasant Groce High School is a nice school with an extremely nice and intelligent staff. The staff at Pleasant Grove High School is very caring and overall truly concerned for all of the students. The only thing that stops Pleasant Grove Hight school from being a five star is the lack of diversity. The school has a majority of Caucasian students but it might just be because of the area it is in. Something I would change about PGHS is, honestly nothing! The majority of the students and staff are respectful!
Pleasant Grove High School's staff created a very inclusive environment that shunned racial intolerance, promoting students through cultural events and discipline to embrace their cultural backgrounds. During the years I was present in-person--before the COVID-19 pandemic--I found myself enjoying the annual dance rallies held during in-school hours. The activities were entirely student-run and promoted dances from all corners of the world as a peek into their respective cultural heritage. The staff themselves were interactive and engaged, oftentimes willing to converse with current and former students during after-school hours. The variety of academics the school offered was stellar, boasting Advanced Placement classes for the majority of classes offered on the course catalog. Additionally, the school had five unique "academy" programs, promoting career paths for post-secondary education. Overall, the school environment was comfortable and offered a plethora of educational resources.
My experience with Pleasant Grove High school throughout the three years I have been attending has only been positive. The amount of clubs, sports, opportunities, and educational support that this school provides is what is needed for the students attending this school to thrive and be successful. This school provides the academics and multiple AP classes that challenge and ready students for their future college careers. The academics and the teachers are what I look forward to as a students attending Pleasant Grove High School. The safety overall will assure every student that they can feel comfortable at this campus. The School Culture and assembly's about appreciating all students of all ethnic backgrounds are very informational and amazing.
