The school it’s self has lots of potential! Small town cliques and judgement tends to take over some of the positivity, especially if you’ve not been a local all your life. Sometimes those faults can be unwelcoming. Aside from the lack of diversity and open minds, the school is expanding with new staff and faculty to make it more comfortable. Through my years in high school it has continuously progressed in academics via teachers and options. Technology that is provided for each student and teacher is excellent and efficient. Sports teams are also great, there is always lots of participation from players and the community. Overall, for an average student, the school is great and provided with lots of room for growth.

Plateau Valley High School is a small school in a rural community. We have 22 people graduating this year. The best thing about Plateau Valley is the sense of community that comes with a small school. I also liked the small classes that I had at Plateau Valley. One of the drawbacks of having a small school is that they cannot support a lot of the bigger sports. I am a soccer player and I had to travel to a nearby school, Palisade High School, to compete in soccer.
I learned a lot by getting involved in all the extracurricular activities. I loved the 'family' feeling that this school represents and that you get out what you put in. This school is unique because it is located in a rural ranching community, but everyone is super supportive and helpful to the students. I wouldn't change a single thing about this school and I would definitely go back and do it all over again!
