This is a very great school especially for High school students who are thinking about continuing their education. Their are a lot of resources for college credits as well as, a lot of clubs and organizations that students can get involved in. I highly recommend this school for middle and high school students. The staff is great!
When I first came to Obama I had a hard time meeting people. However, now as a senior, my closest friends are here. Every class go to I see my friends but there's always people to meet. The school has some great teachers which really understand and support students. Going to Obama I also had access to lots of different opportunities and resources. I was able to become leader in many different clubs and the Marching Band. The school cultivates an environment of eager participation. The school has a great language program that emphasizes on teaching all aspects of a language. The school also has a great music and arts department, including, drum roll... the top marching band in the city. The IB aspect of the school meant a very well versed education. If I could change on thing... I think I would put more of an emphasis on the science and technology classes. While they exist they are not very in depth. My time at Obama has been great, and I can't wait to finish my senior year.
As a current student at Obama Academy, this school is fire. The school gets hated on for no reason! Just haters being haters and thinking they're better than everyone else. CAPA students constantly put down Obama as if they've been here. They don't know anything and some people need to grow up. -Kenza Bey and Lucy
