Because the school is K-8, you get treated like a little kid when you get to middle school. Some teachers are good and some are bad. The "old building" is dim and dusty, and there isn't any AC. The "new building" is pretty nice because it is new. The worst part about the school is the administration. They have a clear bias towards the accuser, and have a mentality of guilty until proven innocent.
Teachers were a little aggressive but the academics are good and the administration is friendly. The school is nice and up to date and is a safe place for children.
The school is a K-8 and has a wonderful reputation. It is bursting at the seams with almost 900 people enrolled. I wish the school were bigger. Sometimes the class size gets too large as a result of the popularity. Colfax is diverse with students from over 50 countries. It is a neighborhood school where most people know each other. It has a very active PTO that raises over 50,000 annually to pay for extra enrichment programs and technology for the school. Parents are involved and support the school and in turn their children are there to learn. The school has a community feel since it is a K-8. The students continue together from K - 8th grade and it creates a very friendly atmosphere for the most part.
