I transferred to Pioneer from Folsom HS beginning of Sophomore year and ever since then, it felt like this was my home. Everyone on campus is really friendly, not just the students, but also the teachers and staff. Campus culture definitely stands out as diversity is clearly apparent. Everyone's included and bullying is at its lowest due to specific protocols the school take. Overall, a pretty good school that has its ups and downs like every other school. In my opinion, though, the ups outweigh the downs.

I unfortunately did not have the best experience at Pioneer. The staff (specifically admin in the front office) is infamous for being rude to the students and parents. I had a learning disability and was often not given accommodations that I was legally required to have by my teachers. My experience was stressful; therefore, I was not able to enjoy most of my high school experience. With that said, the counselors and admin within that department are very kind people and will go out of their way to help.
Overall, Pioneer High School is a very good high school. There are lots of opportunities for advancement, especially with the AVID program which helps prepare students for college. Most of the teachers are helpful, kind and supportive. There is diversity in this school, but people tend to stick to their cliques. The one change I'd recommend is an elective class which preps students for real world issues such as house maintenance, taxes, etc. But this applies to most high schools not just Pioneer.
