I was shy but I found nice and friendly people. Some of the teachers were more than questionable when it came to the question of if this is the right job for them. But there were a handful of teachers where you could tell they cared about their job and the students. The food wasn't very good so I usually skipped on the school lunches. They are very involved in sports and the arts which is nice to see.
I remember when we were still in portables and felt more connected as a community. The new school brought new teachers and we have had some problems, but the students know that they have a voice. We have not had many club activities and haven't done much this year to connect as a school. I love how diverse we are and seeing people who look like me, it makes me feel safe. Our security doesn't though and usually standby and talk to the students who do not go to class. We have hired more and I believe that they're doing a great job. The IB program helps the students and prepares them for college.
I think PVHS is a great school that works on their problems!

My school is very advanced in coursework and has some excellent teachers. Pinole valley has many different programs for students to get ahead, such as the IB diploma program, Health academy program, and an engineering program. We also have uncommon classes such as Mandarin, ASL, Photography, and TV production. The teachers at PVHS are almost always very good and strive for your success. We carry our weight when it comes to athletics and clubs. You can find every type of sport you want and teams from are school are decent to great. You could find any club you wanted or make one pretty easily. My only complaint about Pinole Valley is the culture. There is often physical fighting and we have problems with substances.
