Being at Pinkerton Academy for four consecutive years has shown me the culture and the feel of being a student there!
Administration is very kind. If you are respectful and abide by the reasonable rules at the school, administration, teachers, and faculty alike are unlikely to give you trouble.
There is a wide array of clubs available to people of all different interest groups. If you are an outdoor person, you may find interest in their Bass Fishing Club. If you enjoy computers, anime, Japanese culture, or even Harry Potter, there are clubs for that, as-well! There is little difficulty finding people with similar interests to yourself here!
If you require assistance with learning, coping, or managing high school in any way, the school counseling office and 504 rooms are always open and eager to help those who need it! This school is great for anyone looking for a warm, safe environment to learn and flourish as a student!

Pinkerton offers an array of different opportunities and learning styles, perfect for any student looking to achieve great things with even greater support. However, many times there is a lot of miscommunication between students and staff. This is primarily seen in interactions with students having a hard time, either in or out of school, and how they're treated in response. It's so important for their to be fair communication and checkups to look out for the well being of the students at Pinkerton, something I didn't really get to see in my 4 years there. It's a beloved school, just not as checked into how the students feel about certain situations, or even teachers.
Class variety: culinary, cosmetology, woodworking, welding, forestry, video production, music, ROTC, performing arts, engineering, animal science, computer, foreign language, honors and AP classes are all available among others.
The extra-curricular activities: typical sport selection along with gymnastics, crew, tennis, and bowling, photography, quiz bowl, equestrian, theater, band, international club, and more.
Despite unsavory characters, the faculty and staff are mostly made up of dedicated individuals who care for the wellbeing of students and are available to help.
There were areas for improvement such as the few teachers who didn't seem very receptive or interested, cafeteria offerings, and early start time to name a few.
Some of my favorite things were spirit week, especially Red and White Day (nearly every student adorned themselves with school colors resulting in a sea of red and white Astros blanketing the campus); the size of the campus; and AP classes.
