I graduated from Pingree a few years ago. Pingree's academics were very difficult for me to adjust to initially. Coming from a public middle school, I felt like I was behind many of the other students for my first year. Most of my teachers really cared about their students, and the advisory program helped me feel more comfortable getting to know my teachers. The history department was one of the strengths of the school. However, the math department was slightly lacking. Especially in upper level calculus and statistics classes. The science department also had some ineffective teachers. Like many high schools, the student body was very divided based on activity. While at Pingree, the theatre/ creative arts programs grew tremendously.

Pingree is an innovative, challenging, diverse, and authentically student-centered college-prep, co-ed day school. Pingree is setting an exciting new bar for New England prep schools, focusing on an interdisciplinary, creative curricula that supports wellness and installs character and empathy. Students are challenged and happy, teachers are passionate and creative, parents are engaged and active, and resources are abundant -- all of which lead to impressive college placement and alumni success. Pingree is second to none for a life- and college-prep day experience in New England!
I've had a really amazing overall experience at Pingree. I'm about to graduate and I feel confident that I'm completely prepared for college! I think what really makes Pingree great is the quality of the teachers and the challenges inherent in the curriculum regardless if you are enrolled in an honors course or not. There is a high academic expectation but the teachers/faculty/fellow students are all very supportive. Pingree is a great place for someone looking to work hard, be involved in their community and form really close relationships with staff and students alike.
