I have attended PCCA since its founding in 2015 when I was in 4th grade. I have no complaints about my elementary years. When I got to junior high, I began to notice some issues. Administration became more and more unnecessarily strict. Rules limiting any kind of self-expression began to arise. The thing that bothers me the most is the obvious favoritism within the school. The one thing I can't complain about, however, is education. I believe the rigor and lecture style way of teaching will help prepare me for college
As a current alum, I attended PCCA for the past 7 years. I had amazing experiences overall with my teachers and the academics provided. The only complaint was that there wasn’t many opportunities for electives, sports, or even the option to dual enroll earlier, delaying me from receiving my AA degree. The teachers care about their students as well as the admin.
I don't have enough words. I was a PCCA student since 3rd grade, and I left right before my freshman year of high school. PCCA student and parent culture is very right-wing; if you don't agree with those opinions and ideals, you're going to have a hard time at that school. Along with that, teachers show their political biases, which, in my opinion, shouldn't be shown to influential kids.I have heard from friends that there are creeps at the school, ranging from seniors and juniors hitting on middle school students to some of the boys looking up girls skirts and trying to sexually assault them. Other than the horrible student life, the classes are actually pretty good, especially the literature aspect. They had me read Shakespeare in 5th grade, and they challenge their students academically. If you don't mind the horrible student life and only care about academics, then sure, PCCA might be an okay choice, but there are much better schools out there for your kid.
