It's a great school if you are focused on academics. There is lot of work and studying effort to be done, however success never comes easy. I've personally have had all the nice teachers (incredibly lucky), never been bullied or seen someone be bullied (partly because of all the "aides" and the police officer present at campus), and have made many great friends. A few words of caution though: There's a bad teacher in every grade, and while I obviously won't name them my friends have had them for classes, and their experiences have ranged from "wait she actually did that" to outright hilarity. Middle school sports teams are decent, cafeteria lunch is mostly plastic except the nachos, and the school's being remodeled currently to be even better. If you join PV next year, you will be welcomed to a second giant building instead of scattered portables. Safety is very good, gym speakers hurt your ears, and people are very nice. I've had a great experience! Lots of clubs to join, too.
Pine View School is a challenging, yet rewarding school that truly prepares its students for college and further education. Students are pushed to challenge themselves in their academics and extracurriculars, with most teachers (except for a select few that are not as supportive) encouraging and supporting their students. I have personally thrived in Pine View, as well as many of my peers. We are provided with countless resources, whether that be faculty or instructional material, that allow us to succeed in Pine View's competitive environment. Along with the school's academic prestige, however, comes stress for Pine View students. For me personally, the competitive air of Pine View has caused me to stress about my grades on a regular basis, often comparing them to peers that are performing better than me. It has created a "perfectionist" attitude in many students, which in turn causes these students to struggle with mental health. Despite this flaw, Pine View is still wonderful.
I have loved my experience at Pine View. I began attending in 3rd grade and have seen myself grow into an incredibly independent and resourceful young woman over the years due to the standards and drive that is instilled in all of Pine View students. The only reason why I did not get 5 stars is as I have gotten older and into high school, the quality of teachers has seemed to dwindle. Unfortunaley, many are forced to teach to a test and can not allow students to learn and continue their passion for learning anymore if they want to get a good grade. I would like to see better teacher put in place for future pythons and a decrease in dependence on test scores. Other than that, Pine View has been the perfect fit for me over the last 9 years of my life and I would reccommend it to any family considering to send their child there.
