Pine Point School Reviews
Rating 2.43 out of 5 7 reviews
I truly enjoyed my time at Pine Point, and I feel that it struck a perfect balance between pursuing learning for the sake of learning and preparing students well for future academics. I felt able to explore different academic subjects during my time there, and I felt that my writing and communication skills with teachers and class discussion abilities all improved far more than at another institution. It still feels like an important part of my life, even after several years.
This school has very good academics. The music and arts programs are superb, and it is a safe school. Prepares students well for high school, many Pine Pointers go on to top boarding schools and colleges. It goes up to 9th grade, which is inconvenient for most, but those who stay go on field trips to Hawaii and Martha's Vineyard and go out on a boat searching for organisms in the nearby ocean every week. The sports teams are ok, and it is worth mentioning that the school lacks a cafeteria. The tuition is high, but it is worth sending your child for a couple years if you can afford it.
I enjoyed the pine point school for many years, but there is no Cafeteria, so the students are forced to eat in the gym or in there classrooms. Secondly some of the teachers are great, but some have made children cry in past years. And third the tuition cost is not worth it. I recommend other schools, like ones in the surrounding area, or in New London. I recommend pine point for pre-K and lower school, but please do not go there for mid and upper school. Another thing is that the school ends at 9th grade, an extremely odd point... but by the time you get up there there are only a few kids left in the grade. 2 out of 5 stars for diversity, 3 out of 5 for teachers, 1 out of 5 for food, and of course poor college readiness. I still give this school a 4 out of 5 star rating, but every year it goes further downhill..
