I’ve been with the school since 2006, and while my experience there has been overall good, there is very little diversity in the school, notably in racial and ethnic minorities. I feel that the school has fostered an environment that is extremely high pressure, leading to what I’ve seen as a higher percentage of exhausted or depressed students. The school can make up for this with their high grades, but at the cost of the mental health of the students. Eight 45 minute classes per day leads to an extraordinary buildup of homework, which can take several hours in one night. Combined with early starting times, students struggle to keep up with the workload and stay awake.
Teachers are wonderful, the students are generally very academically intelligent and the buildings are well kept. A wonderful theatre program with a great theatre director, Mrs. Howard!
