Phoenix School at Southwest Schools Reviews

I have never met teachers that have cared more about their students than the teachers do at my school. I learn so much. Social Studies classes used to be my least favorite classes, then I came to this school and started really learning. Our social studies teacher is my favorite. His class is really hard, but it is the most fun class I've ever had. Bullying at our school is non-existant. The programs of recovery we all work are based off of love and compassion for other alcoholics and addicts, so everybody is friends and accepts each other. The administration is very serious about us attending school. Our principal always tells us, "School is your full-time job. Treat it like you're getting paid for the work you do."

To be allowed to attend this school, you must be a part of an APG (Alternative Peer Group), which is essentially an outpatient hangout thing that offers meetings and sober functions. All kids attending these programs are trying to get sober, or have gotten sober. These APGs take up a VERY large amount of our time outside of school, so these are our extracurricular activities.
I absolutely love my school. I wouldn't have stayed sober without it. It plays a giant role in my recovery from addiction. The support available is endless. It is truly a privilege to be able to attend.
