Phoenix Christian Preparatory School Reviews
Rating 3.88 out of 5 66 reviews
I attended this school for close to a decade. The facilities are well maintained and there is a sense of higher learning within the school, but they should not consider themselves a college preparatory school. This school did not prepare me for college or the challenges that I would be facing while continuing my education. Phoenix Christian is nothing more than a private Christian school, and I believe that is what they should call themselves. The teachers and coaches are vey prone to having favorite students and it is easily shown in who got in trouble and who was let off with a warning. It was only after I graduated where I learned that the school holds very conservative values and does not teach their students progressive outlooks. If you wold like to pursue a STEM related pathway, maybe try a different route. Overall, this school is pretty nice but I would never send my child there personally.
I started going to PC my sophomore year, I really enjoyed their deep rooted traditions as well as their eagerness to adapt to a changing world. I witnessed their ability to restructure quickly through when: first: one of the teachers had left on bad terms with the school and stirred others to leave as well; second: the pandemic and needing to learn how to transition an online campus; and third: as I watched them hire a new principal. This school is a great school that runs fairly smoothly, even through turbulent conditions, but the biggest change i would like to see is more clear communication and consistency within the administration, for example, there are many rules that some teachers do not enforce and many times that no one really knows what is required of them during certain events, but, all in all, PC is a very good school.
My overall experience at Phoenix Christian has been very good. I have made a tight connection with people over the course of my four years. The sports are above average and the education is pretty good. I have one major complaint however. With all of the foreign exchange, and new program like Heart for the City, there leaves a gap in diversity. The school is not as unified as it could be. Often times everyone has their own little group and that’s how it stays. If only the school was a little bit more unified, my experience would have been just a bit better. Overall though, great school and a great Christian education!
