PiM is an amazing school where students can find their voice amongst a community of creatives. Whether you are a college bound in your art area or looking to grow and expand your creative output, PiM provides the training and environment where students grow. I have yet to see a motivated student who has not been pushed to grow as a thinker and problem solver. Students have so many opportunities to present their art through gallery or performance. This is a place that can change your life if you let it!

Wonderful place with regards to art exploration - every freshman complains about favoritism but in my personal experience that tends to drop off the longer you're there. You can do things outside the mainstream productions pretty easily, with a little initiative. On the downside though, the mental health of most of the school is pretty bad and while the teachers try their best to engage with it, the administration has a harder time and tends to be more focused on appearances rather than the students. It is not at all uncommon on any day to find a student sobbing in the bathroom or in the hallway because they're so stressed from trying to do school and AP and productions on top. I wouldn't recommend going here if you can't completely handle depression, anxiety, or adhd etc w/o accomodations. Multiple students have had runins with the admins to try to get themselves help and it doesn't work.
This school is an open-minded, ahead of its time performing arts school. There is a diverse population of students, staff, and administration. Both the arts and academic areas of the school are challenging, yet enjoyable. The teachers are willing to stay after school or come in early to help and there are almost always plenty of students ready to put together a study group for a class. People here want to learn and the environment is serious, yet extremely welcoming and tons of fun!
