From Pennsylvania Leadership Charter School

Cyber Schools follow an instructional model that’s similar to home schooling, without the responsibility of purchasing curriculum and designing lessons. Students are required to log attendance every day, submit assignments, attend online live lessons and complete the state mandatory testing. Using different types of online programs, students receive their education through an electronic device and the internet.

PA Leadership Charter School opened its doors in 2004 and has been growing steadily every year; it now educates over 3100 students across Pennsylvania.

Pennsylvania Leadership Charter School has legitimately changed my life over the three years I have been there. PALCS offers more than just a leadership-driven education through cyber resources. PALCS has two programs for students who are academically and artistically gifted. As a PALCS student, you may qualify for the University Schoolers Program(USP) or the Center for Performing and Fine Arts(CPFA), and possibly both! USP is for students 6-12 grade that is academically gifted and dedicated. CPFA is for 6-12 grade artists wanting to expand their experience and training. CPFA offers pre-professional training in theater, music, fine art and dance. As a student that attended CPFA, I was able to grow immensely as a theater artist and also learn about other art forms that I had not explored before. PALCS has so much to offer for its students, and I feel blessed to have taken advantage of those offers.

I started 'PALCS" this year, and i have nothing but good to say about this school! I will start by saying i've been with palcs for almost a year, i have to say it was the ultimate best decision for my family. Everyone i came in contact with at "PALCS" is kind, understanding, always there to help and just brings a good vibe. I am highly impressed by the curriculum, my son learned so much more than i expected him to learn in this time. I feel like the work is advanced and yet to my sons understanding, which i love and always looked for in every school. And "PALCS" offers just that.I've never been the parent to homeschool, i've always been against doing it for many reasons, but "PALCS" changed my outlook on homeschooling completely.
PALCS has been a savior for our son. He is 13 and has autism, sensory processing disorder and other learning disabilities. It has been the best decision we ever made! From day one, the school was so supportive of him and understood his learning differences. He has the most incredible, supportive team of teachers and therapists. There are opportunities for socialization and he has grown leaps and bounds in the last 2 years. He's even been on the honor roll! He tells me he never wants to leave PALCS and I agree with him completely. PALCS has truly been the best thing that ever happened to us.
