I came to Penn from both its elementary school and it’s middle school but previously to
that I had attended about 10 other elementary schools in the south bend/Nile’s District and it was a drastic change in environment. It involved a whole new breed of persons to adjust to and learn from and mostly everyone has known each other their whole lives, but the people that accepted me have now become my life long friend til this day and I appreciate them more than anything. The teaching is also very different from what I had been used to and a lot more advanced but the teachers really pushed me and now I’m where I am and I feel confident and comfortable. I’ve done 4 years of all the arts and been student assistant Since my junior year in the art rooms and that’s been very fun and allowed me to work on my art and receive awards which I never thought I could do but I did!

As a senior at Penn High School in Mishawaka, Indiana, I’ve had a well-rounded high school experience. I’ve participated in football and track and field, which I’ve enjoyed immensely. Additionally, I’ve been involved in chess club, stock market club, and esports club.

Penn High School offers so many wonderful opportunities for their students. They have a wide variety of classes and clubs for students to take. I have really enjoyed their art classes and art club, personally. The worst part was when I had no friends in any of my classes sophmore year, and they wouldn't let her change her schedule to join one of my classes. I ended making new friends that year, so it wasn't horrible. One thing I'd like to see change is requiring teachers to take their class to the school's art gallery at least once a year, because as far as I know only the few art teachers take their classes to observe the students' art in the gallery.
