Penn Alexander School Reviews
Rating 4.5 out of 5 2 reviews
PAS is a charter/private school that poses as a public school when really it is not. It does not accept all students in the catchment, which is a requirement for Philadelphia public schools. It is an elitist penn school that is dramatically shifting from diverse to just white as the years have gone on and the school has gained more recognition. It is difficult to stay in the same building for nine years and not get antsy. However, the staff are awesome and this school really prepared me for high school and I credit them for most of the skills I have today. This school has a big future ahead as long as it steers clear of its current “lottery” admissions system and focuses on uplifting the rest of west philly instead of creating painful separations from itself and other neighboring elementary schools. I know this review is harsh, but most people rarely write a review when they have something good to say. However, there were lots of amazing things that I did not have space to mention.
They stopped this by the time my kids were old enough for this school but I would’ve 100% slept outside for days to get my kids in here as well. This school lives up to all of the hype surrounding it. It is such a supportive school. It’s the type of school where you feel like your child could never be forgotten. The staff is so involved & attentive to the children! They want to see each child do well & it shows! I only wish I’d been able to go to this school myself as a child. But I’m more than happy that my kids get the privilege of attending a school this great!!! I literally prayed that my kids would get in. If you’re able to please try to get your kid/kids in here. You’ll love everything about it!
