Peekskill High School can definitely be recognized as the most diverse high school in our local region. Although it can be underestimated by other schools and students, we have demonstrated to possess the qualities necessary to thrive. Our new principal encourages us to strive for success on a daily basis. I find this incredibly significant, especially because of the fact that we're belittled by others. Our school has so much talent, we are academically, musically and artistically talented. As of now, we have recent graduates attending the most prestigious universities in the country! We also have so many students that are easy to envision at Broadway and Hollywood. What I value the most about our school is that we are always eager to show ourselves and the rest of the world what Peekskill High School has to offer.

Peekskill High School has various pros and cons. A positive about PHS is the work ethic of the teachers. A fair majority of the staff are willingly helpful and really try to help you grasp the subject in which ever class it may be. Another plus about PHS is the diversity. Students here are teeming with different cultures and personalities. Our school is basically one big melting pot. There are, however, some negatives about our school. Our technology and equipment aren't really up to par compared to our local counterparts. We also do not have any spirit as a school. We do not have sports banquets for seniors, we do not have homecoming, and we don’t have junior proms.
My experience at Peekskill High School was quite an adventure. Definitely, Peekskill High School teaches you how to escape those tough challenges that you may encounter as you grow up and all expose you to amazing opportunities through the useful programs that they offer. However, I wish to see more money being put towards academics in high school rather than sports. I'm a strong believer in saying that sports can only take you so far, however, knowledge is a powerful tool that can open many doors for you and no one could be able to take your knowledge away from you. Obtaining knowledge can put you at a place that you've never envisioned your self to be in.
