Pawling High School has the potential to be a very good school but sadly lacks in student diversity and school culture. More often than not, students and teachers are simply trying to get through the day, and it does not appear that input from students and parents is taken very seriously by administration. A lack of organization is also present, which also takes away from the enjoyment of coming to Pawling High School. Many of the teachers are very good at what they do, but others seem unmotivated.

My high school experience was an eye roll. The entitlement that radiated from students especially in my class and the one beneath me was suffocating. I never felt helped by my guidance counselors because I wasn't in the top 20 in my class ranking. I want to also see more of an awareness for mental health in students because I feel it's often disregarded. Other than that, the math and science departments allowed me to learn under some of the most amazing instructors.
Pawling's small size makes it a very safe school, with minimal interruptions throughout the day and a good faculty to student ratio. Despite the tiny class size, there is a good variety of AP and honors classes, and students have the opportunity to study at the difficulty level that works best for them and their education.

One of my complains about Pawling is that the small size also takes away a lot of opportunity to make new friends and meet new people, because everyone's already known each other from day one.
