My overall experience was about average and typically compared to other rural, low-funded schools. Although there were rather annoying events like a bed bug infestation and firing a teacher for no set reason, I’ve heard of worse. I’d like to see more funding in arts such as band.
My experience with Pawhuska High School was very good. I had the help of amazing staff to help me along with all of my problems inside and outside of the classroom, especially when it came time for me to start thinking about college. Even though we get a bad rap the community is so put together and we look out for each other so much that sometimes it feels like a family. No one messes with a Pawhuska student and only goes up against one. I would like to see things like the school food and heating changed.
I enjoyed how close all of the students were while I was there. I made lasting relationships with the people I graduated with and the grades around me. I have some really great teachers and some that seemed like they could care less about teaching us students and the students themselves. Honestly though could not imagine ever going to a different high school than the one I went to.
