Paul D. Schreiber High school has been my home for the past 4 years and I wouldn’t want it any other way. Ever since freshman year the staff at Schreiber has set me on a path for success and allowed me to explore my interests as a young adult. The programs that they offer are outstanding whether it’s our inclusive and growing Drama Club to our award winning and county competing sports teams. My teachers have been understanding and supportive throughout all my years and always offer after-class extra help no matter the circumstances. Our school has tons of school spirit too! Every semester we have our own spirit week, showing off our school pride with fun costumes with themes for everyday day of the week. Our school holds us to high standards when it come to our Academics, but I feel as though that pressure helped plenty of us to truly strive for excellence as we think about and apply to our top colleges.
Personally, I have had a great experience at Schreiber High School. The teachers are incredibly hands on, and truly want the students to succeed in being the best they can be. Their efforts pay off, because students from Schreiber go on to attend prestigious universities such as Harvard, Princeton, and Columbia. The school is top notch when it comes to technology, and is fully supplied with Smart boards and Chrome books. But the biggest, and most important part of Schreiber is the school community and spirit! The Schreiber community is close-knit, caring, and ambitious. Annual pep rallies and football games show our school's dedication to the spirit of Port Washington, and we love making our town proud! The Arts and Sports programs at Schreiber are both top of the line, including a fully renovated football field, and a 500 seat theater. Many have sung their praises about the professional level shows displayed at Schreiber. The opportunities that Schreiber offers are hard to beat!
Lots of the problems or complaints still remain like the air conditioning and heating being random depending on the room. It's either freezing or burning hot but that's not a big deal rlly. I like the school I like the teachers for the most part. But I've had a few boring teachers and classes that were just uninteresting but that's usual everywhere tbh. I feel like our school is that typical movie high school. There is decent diversity but it could be more diverse so if ur poc please move here. I'm hoping the super rich ppl don't consume the town bc a special thing here is the culture and stuff. Academics are great probably harder than most high schools tho. Everyone seems to have a good circle of friends. The popular kids aren't too ignorant. Majority of ppl are super sweet and approachable. The school is cozy and students r generally accepting. Rarely hear ab bullying but I'm sure some happens. It's a rlly nice environment, nice outdoor seating, lots of clubs, and safe.
