If your child loves to draw, paint, sculpt or take pictures this is the magnet program for them. My daughter started just drawing little things and fell in love with it. Illustration has become her passion. This school has helped her develop her talents. Now she is a freshman at Maryland Institute College of Art. She is enrolled in the 5 year MAT program with on a BFA in Illustration as her undergrad degree. I do not think that she would be on this path to her dreams if it was not for the OUTSTANDING TEACHERS in the ART MAGNET PROGRAM here!

Overall, I have had a really good experience at Patapsco. I am in the dance magnet, and I am lucky to have a "second family". With the support of my dance teachers and peers, they have made me the person I am. Majority of the teachers I had were super helpful and cared for me. If I had a question, they would gladly help me and work through my question with me. The one thing I would change is how often the bathrooms are closed. I understand that the students at Patapsco are childish when it comes to the bathrooms, but everyone should not be penalized for their mistakes.
I have enjoyed my 4 years at Patapsco as an overall. There is some tweaking to be done but there’s tweaking to be done to all schools. Teachers could be loren proactive with helping students and contacting parents when students aren’t doing well. Teachers definitely don’t have as much respect to students or even staff as they should. Class could be disruptive at times and no matter how many times I complained both was to be changed. Now that there is a new principle I hope to see a change. I am in the dance magnet and love Ms. Sweet, her name fits her perfectly, one of the most caring and sweetest teachers there.
