It had good teachers that cared about the students and knew how to teach. We weren't short on supplies, and in fact some teachers were so kind as to give students supplies to use and keep- things that weren't cheap either i.e. Canvas from the art teacher. Both history teachers I had were so involved with their subject that I acquired a love for the subject that I had previously not liked very much. There were interactive "colonial days" and a flourishing history club that took an overnight field trip to the Alamo one year! The science department wasn't lacking by any means either. We were able to dissect frogs and I still TO this day use a memory technique taught to me by my 7th grade science teacher, concerning genetics. Overall it was a good place to be.
