Parkview is hands down, one of the best public schools in Arkansas. What I like most about Parkview is the involvement of our magnet areas. Whichever area you choose, rather it is dance, vocal music, visual arts, band, science, or orchestra, your whole school year will be adjusted around that. I think it is a beautiful thing that a school can care about your talents and desires, almost as much as they care about your academics. I love that it is a balance, as they push you to succeed and excel academically, as well as caring about your extra-curriculars, including any programs, clubs, & sports organizations. I love the diversity of not only the student body, but the teachers as well. What I would like to see at Parkview is more teacher-student involvement to prepare for larger testing like ACT. As Parkview is an amazing school for academics, I feel as if their expectations are so high of the students that they dont take the extra mile to prepare for nationwide testing.

Parkview is a very special school that I'm thankful to attend. Parkview would definitively be one of the most diverse schools in the state if not in the country. Teachers here are themselves diverse and very ambitious. You'll find that there isn't much of a rift dividing the students and the staff as much as other places. As for the individual magnet areas, Parkview prides itself in high achievement in respective areas. The science magnet is known for being academically rigorous and inquisitive. The Drama and Music departments are known for performing on a semi-professional level, being heavily involved in community events. But, the magnet areas can at times overload curriculum with over ambition.
Parkview Magnet High School has an astounding Drama and Arts department. However, it is not the dream school that I expected it to be. Parkview offers areas of concentration including, band, visual arts, dance, science, and drama. When selected to attend the school, it does not require students to audition for any magnet area except for drama. Meaning that other students are misplaced in an area of concentration. This issue is very problematic because it then forces students to spend their entire high school career in a magnet area that they are not passionate about. I speak from personal experience. Despite this negative factor, Parkview students have easy access to incredible clubs ranging from BETA club and National Honor Society to a Gay-straight alliance club to support the LGBTQ communtiy at my school. Parkview has an outstanding academic program and in the previous year the graduating seniors earned over six-million dollars in scholarships.
